Jennie Salazar, Managing Attorney
Jennie Salazar is a patent attorney with extensive ‘in-house’ and ‘large law firm’ experience handling Intellectual Property matters for large international corporations in the Homeland Security, oilfield, software, medical, aerospace and other industries. After spending seven years in private practice, Jennie spent seven years as in-house IP Counsel for a large software and oilfield services company where she managed large dockets of international patent and trademark portfolios, negotiated IP contracts, prepared IP strategies, trained business teams, performed due diligence reviews and handled IP disputes. Before attending law school, Jennie spent five years working as an engineer and technical manager for a major manufacturing corporation.
Valerie Friedrich, Of Counsel, Law Professor & PhD Chemist
Valerie Friedrich is a PhD Chemist and Patent Attorney with over sixteen years of experience working in-house and at large law firms handling multi-million dollar patent portfolios, handling IP agreements, and working on multi-million dollar IP litigation matters. Valerie is also currently an adjunct professor of patent prosecution at the University of Houston Law Center. Before attending law school, Valerie worked as a Chemist for major international chemical corporations.
Jubin Dana, Of Counsel
Jubin Dana is a patent attorney that has served as Head of Patent Management at a major international credit services corporation, as in-house counsel at a major international communications corporation, and as outside counsel at top IP law firms. Jubin has experience managing large international IP portfolios, negotiating multi-million dollar cross-licensing agreements with major telecommunications companies, creating and implementing patent strategies for major international corporations, preparing and prosecuting hundreds of patent applications, and handling multi-million dollar IP litigation. Before attending law school, Jubin gained technical experience by working as an electrical engineer for a major international technology corporation.

Tom Mitchell is a patent agent with over thirty (30) years of experience as a chemist, and ten (10) years as an in-house patent agent. Tom has a PhD in Organic Chemistry and has worked for major international corporations in the oil & gas industry. Tom has prepared & prosecuted hundreds of patent applications, and prepared numerous opinions.
Jonna Flores, Of Counsel
Jonna is a Patent Attorney with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rice University. Before joining the firm, Jonna served as In-House Counsel for Schlumberger, and as an IP attorney for Conley Rose. Jonna has extensive experience handling patent matters for top international hi-tech corporations, and managing international patent portfolios.
Jeffery E. Daly, Patent Agent
Jeff Daly is a patent agent with over thirty five (35) years of experience as a mechanical engineer troubleshooting and designing equipment for the Oil & Gas industry. Jeff also spent over eighteen (18) years as an in-house patent agent for major international oilfield services companies. As a patent Agent, Jeff prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patents throughout the world. Several of Jeff’s patents have been litigated and enforced in federal court.
Jonathan Messmore, Technical Specialist
Jonathan has a BS in Electrical & Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. At Ohio State, Jonathan was a member of an engineering team that won 1st Place in the Honda iDream Student Challenge, and 1st Place in The Ohio State Analog Design Contest. He is also a Combat Support Engineer in the US Army Reserves where he executed multi-million dollar combat missions. During his combat operations in Iraq in 2010, Jonathan’s actions earned him the Bronze Star Medal. Jonathan provides international patent preparation & prosecution support for corporate clients, while preparing for the Patent Bar.
Marcus Puckett, Patent Clerk
Marcus Puckett is a student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, with plans to continue his education towards a PhD in Physics. Marcus assists in the preparation of patent applications and patent drawings.
Mark Ye, Consulting Attorney*
Mark is a Patent Attorney with Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Physics. Mark spent several years as In-House Counsel for Schlumberger, and as an IP attorney for an Intellectual Property Law Firm. Before attending law school at the University of Houston, Mark served as a Process Engineer for Bechtel Corporation.
